WJET: GE gets a visit from Congressman Mike Kelly

GE got a visit from Congressman Mike Kelly and Deputy Secretary of Transporation John Porcari to discuss the importance of infrastructure in the Erie Community.

Congressman Kelly says General Electric is a staple in the Erie Community...they've recently added 1,300 jobs to their company.

Kelly tells us he's impressed with the company's dynamics of their locamotives and what they're accomplishing internationally.

He explains anyone in business right now would look at the revenue streams and objectives...which is why he and Deputy Secretary John Porcari toured GE...because they're right on track.

CEO of GE Lorenzo Simonelli says 2011 was their rebound year...they've got good prospects internationally and now it's about efficiency.

The company also announced investments of about $140 million to modernize the facility.
